It’s been a whirlwind since our last update. We’ve navigated through the highs and lows of life’s unexpected adventures, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the ride!

First off, we moved back into our house after bidding farewell to our tenants. With the “For Sale” sign freshly planted on Rightmove, we embarked on the rollercoaster journey of showcasing our beloved home to potential buyers. Some days, it felt like these visitors were just here for a stroll rather than serious house hunting!

In between house viewings, we embarked on a nostalgic journey through the treasures of our past, clearing out the loft filled with memories from when the boys were little. It’s amazing how much we have accumulated over the years!

But alas, the sale of our house has taken some unexpected twists and turns along the way. Our buyers, buyers, bless their honest hearts, provided us with a plethora of information that led to our plans being put on hold or altered.

So, flexibility became our mantra as we navigated through this challenging process, which at times if I had had a gun no one would have been safe and rightly so our solicitor told us it wasn’t wise that I put this in writing to her either!!

Meanwhile, whilst I returned to work, John embarked on a mission to Cardiff Bay, coming to the rescue of our son Chay who faced his challenge with a flood in his flat.

Amid all this chaos, we also managed to steal away to Wroxham for a few days, to visit our other son James, and his family, which was a fun-filled time with John helping James and me baking and entertaining the children.

And just when we thought life couldn’t throw us any more curveballs, our trusty motorhome decided to join in on the adventure. With issues cropping up in the electrics department, the alarm decided to give us a surprise at all times, it wasn’t fussy day or night, so, John donned his repairman hat once again and dived headfirst into resolving this issue.

As we enter mid-June, we finally received the news we had been eagerly waiting for that we will be exchanging contracts and moving in early July. With this confirmation, it’s time to focus on clearing out and sorting through the remaining bits and pieces.

As we prepare to leave Wolfe Road for the last time, there’s a mix of emotions. This house has been more than just a building; it’s been a place filled with memories, laughter, and growth. Yet, the excitement of what lies ahead keeps us moving forward. Instead of buying a new home right away, we’re setting sail on a different kind of journey. By taking our time and exploring our options, we’re allowing ourselves the freedom to find the perfect place that truly feels like home for all of our family.

Here’s to the next chapter  ā€“ whatever it may bring!

Sorting the boxes that haven’t been open in years

Amongst all the packed boxes and the chaos of moving, we continue to welcome family and friends and our driveway becomes a motorhome Aire for the night once again. Always forget to take photos of people we are too busy chatting!!

One last sleep over for Amelia and Oliver

Our boys come home to not only share in these final moments at Wolfe Road but to also sort 30 odd years of their stuff

Trying to recreate a photo we took 25yrs ago, Jar jar binks chair still going strong

Not sure if Hooch would have agreed with all this change he loved his room

And we are sure the neighbours are relieved that there will be no more fancy dress parties at The Dog House
